This year, at the Linux Australia conference, Karen Sandler (Executive Director of Gnome Foundation) gave an inspiring talk about why libre software is so important. Karen has a heart condition that requires the use of an artificial pacemaker; when the doctor told her to use it, Karen came with a really simple question: what does it run?
